Waddah al-Yaman

Waddah al-Yaman was a poet of the middle Umayyad period. ‘Abd al-Rahman or (‘Abd Allah) ibn Isma’il, ‘the Bright from the Yemen’, is said to have been of Southern Arabian origin or, according to others, to be descended from the Persians who had invaded South Arabia towards the end of the sixth century CE.
