Ibn Ibad and the Ibadi School of Islamic Law |

Abdullah ibn Ibad is credited with founding a school of Islamic law. This case illustrates the political tensions that lead to scholars of Islam retreating from active politics. The Ibadi school is still followed in Oman and in parts of Libya, Tunisia and Algeria.
