President of the Foundation for Science Technology and Civilisation (FSTC) gave a speech at IGMG's ISVDAY(UniDay) in VHS Meidling, Vienna, Austria.


Two years after Professor Al-Hassani's visit to the German IGMG's UniDay in Bielefeld which attracted 3,500 attendees, Austrian IGMG invited Professor Al-Hassani to Vienna to give another speech to their gradutes.

In late September 2012, Professor Salim Al-Hassani, President of FSTC, participated in The World Summit on Innovation & Entrepreneurship WSIE 2012 in Boston. The WSIE 2012 brought together the world's most riveting people to plot the new frontiers of the smarter innovation economy. The forum provides a meaningful setting that engages the world's most amazing people to transform our economies, societies, and the environment. Professor Al-Hassani contributed to discussion and made several speeches in different panels, relevant to various themes such as Innovation Diplomacy, Smart Cities of 2022, Smart Cultures, Applied Science and Applied Women, and finally Women of Science in Muslim Heritage. We present hereafter texts and abstracts of the contributions of FSTC President to this important forum.

Professor Salim Al-Hassani, President of the Foundation for Science, Technology (FSTC) attended the First Arab Innovation Network Annual Conference 2012 (AINAC 2012) in early December 2012 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Organised by Cambridge University's Arab Innovation Network Society between Tuesday, 4 December 2012 and Thursday, 6 December 2012, Keynote speakers (among many other workshop speakers) included Professor Salim T.S. Al- Hassani, Mr. Riad Kamal, Founder and Executive Chairman of Arabtec Construction and CEO of Arabtec Holding and Mr Badr Jafar, Managing director of Crescent Group and President of Crescent Petroleum. The designated research categories discussed in the conference include: Entrepreneurship, Information and Communication Technology [ICT], Environment and Health.

In 2012, FSTC members contributed to several activities by publishing articles and giving lectures all around the world. Professor Rabie E Abdel-Halim, member of Muslim Heritage Awareness Group (MHAG) and of FSTC Research Team, attended several conferences in which he represented the Foundation in UK and abroad. On 12 May 2012, he gave a lecture at Wellcome Institute in London on "Medicine and Health in Medieval Arabic Poetry." One month later, on 13 June 2012, he presented a lecture at the conference on intellectual life in early Muslim world at the Manchester Metropolitan University in Manchester. A third participation of Professor Abdel-Halim was the lecture he presented in October 2012 at Mus Alp Arslan University in Turkey on the Use of Arabic Poetry in the Teaching of Medical Humanities at Medical Colleges. We present hereafter abstracts of these activities with selected slides.
