Abstract - Media, Education and the cultural connection
Bettany Hughes Abstract From the earliest recorded evidence of human social activity, it seems that as an animal group we choose to tell stories about one another and the world around us to try to make sense of our lives on earth. These stories can bind or divide. Now the worldwide web and digital technology allows populations of men and women, young and old, to share ideas, narratives, opinions and attitude. The means to utilise this propensity and facility are many and various. So what can we be doing to ensure that our generation helps to open rather than to close minds?
