Strategic Alliance for a World-wide Roll-out of 1001 Inventions Exhibition
1001 Inventions has unveiled an ambitious plan for a global expansion of its touring exhibition. Through the strategic support of Abdul Latif Jameel Company (ALJ), the groundbreaking educational initiative exploring historical Muslim contributions to science and technology is set to embark upon a worldwide roll-out. Celebrating al-Jazari: 800 Years After
On the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the completion in 1206 by al-Jazari's of his magnum opus book of mechanics, the famous Al-Jami `bayn al-`ilm wa `l-`amal al-nafi `fi sina`at al-hiyal (A Compendium on the Theory and Useful Practice of the Mechanical Arts), we publish a special folder where scholarly articles, images from manuscripts, pictures of reconstructed machines and video animations illustrate the ground breaking work of al-Jazari's genious scientific and technological achievement. 1001 Inventions Exhibition in Croydon
After Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff and Glasgow the touring exhibition 1001 Inventions begins at Croydon Clocktower near London since February 2, 2008.
Location: Croydon Clocktower
Venue Dates: 2 February, 2008 - 3 May 2008, Monday-Saturday, 11am-5pm
