In which era were classification of animals, world maps, medical knowledge of the body, the invention of trebuchet and other scientific, technological and cultural advances developed? One might assume that such advances were most likely to have taken place in Greek or Renaissance times. However, last week's "Incredible Inventions and Extraordinary Experiments: Islamic Science Activity Day" at the University of Cambridge helped revise perceptions of when such developments took place.
